To many people January is a time to set goals, and we look back often with a lot of frustration on what we wish we accomplished the previous year.

As trainers we often focus on positive with our dogs but surround ourselves with negativity and stress. We aren’t ‘good enough’ people are going to judge, why can’t we do a better job? In reality, we need to be kinder with ourselves just like we strive to be kind to our dogs.

Focus forward, did you make progress? Did you see things you loved? Were you capable of thinking that was your best effort today, even if that doesn’t necessarily mean forever. Sometimes the art of being, and doing is just it.

Some training is better than no training. Showing is better than staying home, and appreciating the try of tomorrow is better than worrying about the mistakes of yesterday.
